Antiferromagnetic helix as an efficient spin polarizer: Interplay between electric field and higher-order hopping

We report spin filtration operation considering an antiferromagnetic helix system, possessing zero net magnetization. Common wisdom suggests that for such a spin-polarized current is no longer available from beam of unpolarized electrons. But, once we apply electric field perpendicular to the axis, large separation between up and down energy channels takes place which yields high degree polarization. Such prescription has not been reported so far best our concern. Employing tight-binding framework illustrate helix, compute efficiency by determining selective currents using Landauer-B\"{u}ttiker formalism. Geometrical conformation plays important role in channel separation, here critically investigate effects short-range long-range hoppings electrons presence field. find performance gets improved with increasing range hopping Moreover, phase polarization can be altered selectively changing strength direction field, also regulating physical parameters describe helix. Finally, explore specific dephasing, make system more realistic present communication self-contained one. Our analysis may provide new route getting conformation-dependent electrons, generalized further different kinds other fascinating systems.
